Hello Creative Fashionistas, I know I`ve said goodbye to this blog, but shortly after I did so, I realized my "goodbye" is not absolute. I´m feeling SO home sick, I´m missing my good old blog. While I love the sophistication of my new Creative Fashion blog, I miss the carefreeness of this original one, which is more freeing.

So I thought I better not fully abandon it, I will publish here from time to time some product reviews, and the fashion items that I covet which make me wish I´m rich. :)

I´ve been eyeing this leopard print boots and I´m saving for a pair. Today I found that it´s on sale. I´m kind wanting to purchase it, it´s a very fashion-forward and sexy ankle boots and it comes in a wild print that I most adore, but I have to make sure I´m all ready to let go of my money before I take advantage of this deal.

Luha Boutique Pleated Clutch Review

A clutch or purse is now an important element of a woman´s outfit. Without it, she feels like she´s naked. Clutches and purses have evolved into fashion must-haves overtime. There are many modern trends which you can choose from, you can go for ones with studs, metallic, in animal print or girly polka dots and floral versions.

I´ve been approached by the pr guys of Luha Boutique to review one of their clutches. Because I adore this little number, I said yes. I received a green pleated clutch with floral prints as pictured below. And as you can see, it´s very cute and girly.

I´m looking forward to summer so I could amp up a casual summer dress with this item. I would style it with either a sleeveless little black dress with ankle boots or with a blue denim shorts teamed with nude cropped top and ballerina flats.

This pleated clutch is available for only $30CAD, which is very affordable for a clutch. This is one of those affordable pieces which you can mix with some of your invested items.

However, there are two drawbacks that I found necessary to note about this clutch. First, I don´t like the way the zipper was sewn on the cloth, it´s not clean enough. A lot of undesirable threads are protruding off the sides of the zip. Second, the clutch is too soft that it can´t stand on its own. You can´t put in it your lipstick, wallet and eye shadow and expect to hold it like you would normally carry a structured clutch.

In order for you to be confident carrying this clutch, you would have to cut off those unnecessary thread excess and put inside a thick vertical cardboard, or the like, which will provide structure to it, before you put your little stuff.

All in all I found this pleated clutch from Luha Boutique nice and cute. If you´re into girly accessories for less, I would definitely recommend it.

Where to Get Beautiful Prom Dresses

When it comes to choosing a prom dress for your most awaited prom night, you have to make sure that you pick the perfect dress that is not only beautiful, but it fits right and it flatters your figure. This event happens only once in a life therefore you´ve got to look great so that your partner doesn´t leave his eyes off you.

I´ve purchased a dress from this shop last year and it´s very pretty. My dress is Clarisse style 1406. It´s a brown/gold short homecoming dress which is perfect for fall. I love the charmeuse fabric placed on the strpless bodice because it gave the dress a unique look. It has a gold beaded belt and a gold lame net bubble dress. It makes me dance the whole night with grace.

When I ordered the dress, the delivery was quick. It came perfectly wrapped in a long plastic with hanger. The package was completed with extra cloth so that in case I ruin the hem of dress, I have a way to mend it. My dress was a strapless mini dress but the tube didn´t fit my chests right. Since my dress was one size bigger, I worried that it might fall. I needed support. True enough, along with the package were ready-to-attach spaghetti straps for my shoulders. I really adore the shop.

Prom dresses 2012 are influenced by the trend of the season - colors and prints. You´ll see neon dress dress and hot pink high low gowns. There are animal prints, sequined or metallic, printed or mixed print blends Really, your options are endless.

I have a heart for animal prints so I´m really leaning on to wearing an adventurous and fun in all-over leopard print gown by Jovani. This skirt of this number is high low and the neckline is sweetheart. The upper bodice is covered in sequins and crystals. It´s very Hollywood glam.

More than the style and trend, remember that the key in choosing the right prom dress is comfidence and fit. The dress should´t over power your self-confidence. If it fits right, and if you´re comfortable strutting the dress, then you´re guaranteed to enjoy the night.

Celebrate Your Graduation with a Great Leavers Hoodie

In high school, I and my friends were not aware of leavers hoodie, we had instead a customized t-shirt with logo design as our souvenir. Our not patronizing leavers hoodie could be attributed to the warm weather in the tropics, it´s always warm enough to wear t-shirts and tops without the need of a sweater or cardigan.

But living in Asia didn´t stop us from making memories for a remarkable high school life. There were about ten in our group and we designed our own logo, we choose the right shirt, and had it done in a t-shirt printing shop. The other "click" groups in our class did the same. It was wonderful.

After working abroad as a high school teacher for how many years, I was introduced to school leavers hoodie.  While there are many shops in the city that offers customized hoodies, I discovered that are much more choices online. I found ordering online better because you can quickly compare prices and see different features from each shop.

Many online shops offer different styles of hoodies for male and females with embroidery, 2 color screen print, and collar lining included. If you find the right shop, they would even offer you an option for contrast lining.

Leavers hoodie is a great momento for your school´s memories and experiences. Because you´ll have it only once in a life, why not go for the best which you´ll cherish for long? It´s a great gift for yourself on your graduation day.

Is Kate Middleton´s Dress at 'African Cats' Film Premiere Dated?

When I saw Kate Middleton´s dress at 'African Cats' film premiere, I have nothing but praises. From her hair to her "less but more" dress with her husband escorting her so adorably, she´s an elegant picture of the next Queen.

If you´ll ask me what I think of the dress, I´ll tell you that it´s something simple with enough details to make it standout. Kate Midleton definitely rocked this dress by Matthew Williamson. But fact is, not every women will be able to give justice to this dress the way Kate did.

Unfortunately, haters are everywhere so you´ll hear critics saying that this dress looks like one of her old clothes brought to her tailor for a bedazzle update. From the padded shoulders, the peplum and boring color, this dress is definitely dated!

Are these critics criticizing Kate or the designer? Oh well, clearly, they´re criticizing Kate for her taste of choosing the dress in the first place.

For me, I love how gorgeous she looks in the dress, she´s very elegant, she looks confident and she definitely shone out. That´s all that matters.

Currently Coveting: Zebra Print Home Decors

I and hubby are currently redesigning our living room. Well, it does not involve changing of wall papers but it´s all about changing our sofas and center table and re-arranging everything to fit.

If you have seen my outfit post, "Styling Zebra Print Top", I featured there our black leather sofa set with animal print covers. I dearly loved this sofa however, the width of its seat wasn´t big enough for me and my husband to lie down together. We love to snuggle when it´s bonding time and often, it´s difficult because the seat was narrow.

Thus we were forced to ditch the leather sofa set and purchased a much bigger L-shape sofa in white and cappuccino colors, which, much to my surprised, was actually a lot bigger than what I and husband expected. We ordered it through the Internet. The delivery guy asked if our entire family was coming for a visit, lol ... But we like this new sofa a lot. It´s pretty and cozy.

Now we come to re-decorating the living room. I really have a big love for animal print and currently, I´m fancying some zebra print pieces to add to my living room. Although I don´t plan to make my living room completely jungle-themed, I´m eyeing a gorgeous zebra print lamp, a carpet, or a zebra print chair.

Hello girls, do you know how it feels when you see a pair of shoes that are destined to join your shoe-robe? It makes your heart skip a beat.

I was drafting a style guide post for the blogazine about how to wear colorblock shoes this summer when I stumble on this not-loud but ultra-trendy colorblock sandals from Jerey Cazabat.

You know what I really adore about this shoe? It´s the candy appeal of the pastel purple against the cream which is emphasized by the additional of rich tangerine.

I would wear this with my favorite denim shorts and ivory lace top. It´s gonna be cute and girly.

Why Would You Criticize Donatella Versace´s Sagging Skin, Are You Perfect?

I was in the middle of preparation for my big Deutsch (B1) Test tomorrow when I came across this article, "Donatella Versace: baggy arms till you drop", a translation from German to English, from OMG! yahoo.de site. It disturbs me so much i can´t let it pass, I have to bring my thoughts across.

Oh, and in case you´re wondering how I ended up reading this article when I´m learning for my test, that´s because I use two windows of google translate for my aid, switching windows and occasionally having a break ...

So back to what the OMG writer, Stefi Camden, from Germany wrote ...

The writer criticized  Donatella Versace for going under the knife, injections and perhaps botox to stretch and tighten her face so that now, there´s no movement in her face anymore other than some weird angles at the corners of her mouth.


And yet this OMG! perfect wasn´t content and went on to make fun of Donatella´s saggy arms seen as she made a wave to the photographers. The writer said that the designer invests wrongly only on her face when her flappy arms (which are more in need of fixing) give the spectator goose bumps and that this sight is too scary for the children that they would run hiding or Donatella´s baggy skin would cover them. Seriously? And not only that, this writer concluded that Donadella is not fixing her arms because she´s scared that after the procedure, once the skins are removed, only bones will remain.

It´s a very brave ridicule from such a writer hiding behind the screens, are you perfect? Didn´t it occur to you that those arms only speak of her age and that you too, when you reach her age, will get the same baggy arms? This kind of prejudice against (aged) women is what actually pushes women to go that far if only they could save their beauty because people like OMG! writers have nothing else great going in their lives other than throwing meanness like this.

Why I took offense? Because my grandma has the same loosened skin in her arms but still she looks good for her age, because many elder women with the same baggy arms are great people and they don´t give me goose bumps, and that because this OMG! writer ridicules someone like he/she will never grow old and get wrinkled, baggy skin in the future. Don´t you have wrinkles yet? How about showing me your very recent photo?

Please, before you write such junk article, think very deeply, are you protecting the kids from Donatella´s frightening baggy skin or are you orientating the kids with a VERY prejudice (beauty-wise) mentality.

If you´re writing this for fun, well it isn´t funny!

Would You Wear: Jean-Michel Cazabat for Libertine F/W 2012

I have a big heart for shoes and I´m in the lookout for something loud and creative. So when I saw this gorgeous pair of boots created collaboratively with footwear designer, Jean-Michel Cazabat and Libertine designer, Johnson Hartig, for his F/W 2012 collection, I´m full of awe.


First thing that came to my mind is how to style it. If your want to tone its loudness you can clash it with another print or bright color, I´m thinking of a black/white flannel shirt with hot pink or green colored jeans. But if I´m to wear it for the first time, I´d let the shoe standout by wearing with it an all-black combo - leather tights and black fitted tank and black jacket.

One of the must-have dresses for summer is a  white dress. White does not absorb heat and is fresh and comfy for warm days. Wear Scarf in a Reversed Girl Scout Tie

I bet you can still remember the feeling of wearing a girl scout uniform? My memories are still fresh. I see myself very excited and nervous whenever there were girl scout competitions during camps. I used to be a kid who dreaded games which measure swiftness, it always frightened the whole lot of me. However, what I loved best about girl scout days was wearing the uniform, and especially tying that girl scout hanky around my neck like a scarf.



Now as an adult, I realized that wearing scarf in a reversed-girl-scout way is also a trend. I call it "reversed" because you simply need a squared scarf or a short rectangular shaped scarf, fold it along the diagonal line, hang it at the back of your neck, tie their ends in front of you, adjust the length of ribbon based on your preference, then rotate and position the ribbon at the back of your neck to give you the look.

You guys must be aware of Aimee Mullins and her search for the real definition of beauty and sexy body? She is a strong woman who rightly gained global attention through her successes in the field of sports and fashion despite having dual mutilation of legs above the knee when she was very young.

She has a wide collection of prosthetic legs that ccould change her height from 5'8" to 6'1", but of all them, these wooden carved boot-like legs are the most gorgeous legs she has in my opinion. Not only that they are stunning, they also do not resemble artificial legs, they simply look like boots.

My New Beauty Products Acquisition at a Discount!

You always have a favorite place to shop be it for your clothes, your beauty supplies, or for your grocery needs. For my ten months of living here in Germany, I learned to love a shop. It sells beauty products, accessories and toiletries. It´s introduced to me by my mother-in-law.

Recently I learned that my fave shop is closing due to bankruptcy. The brand has a lot of branches all over Germany and for some reasons, they didn´t make money. It must be due to some wrong decisions made or mis-management. Now they´re selling everything at 30% off and they´ll remain open until everything is sold.

Aside from some kitchen supplies and  toiletries, I also snagged some beauty products and tools. I´m very happy for a new mascara, a liquid eyeliner, some eye shadows and nail polish, and a new straightening iron. I saved quite a price.

Gorgeous Summer Dresses: Airy White, Hi-Low, Colorblock and Stripe

It´s rainy and still cold here in my part of the world but we´re expecting the weather and temperature to improve on the last week of this month. Afterall, isn´t June already summer for Germany?

Once the temperature turns warm, I´ll be showcasing the summer dresses I´m loving this season.  As you can see in the top photo, I´m into bright and airy dresses for summer. Hi-low dresses are currently on trend as well as stripes and colorblocked dresses. I also adore the comfy and relaxed look of the above white drape tank dress.

For the summer daytime dresses, wearing them with sexy high heels, especially nude, is what I´ve in mind. Since the dresses are colored or printed, nude shoes would greatly complement them. For maxi dress and tank dress, I´m so into flat sandals.

Summer Look: Tiffany Printed Patio Dress

One look that I´m coveting for summer is a gorgeous print maxi dress. And in particular, this Tiffany printed patio dress. At first glance, it looks like an animal print and it also embodies a tribal appeal. Maxi dresses are great to wear with a flat sandals and some very interesting accessory.

Because the dress is also printed and quite striking, only add neutral accessories such as a nude slim belt, a gold bangle, and a black or white earring.

Remember that when it comes to maxi dress, the rule of length varies on yout height. If you´re tall, you´ll look great in maxi dresses with varied hem length, but if you´re petite, look for dresses that hit a few inches above your ankle which show some legs. This is to avoid you looking overwhelmed in a long dress.

Behind the Scene: Military Shorts Outfit Post

On Sunday night I published at the blogazine another outfit post, My Outfit: Military-Print Shorts, Plaid Shirt and Flat Boots, and quite frankly, I´m surprised that many women found the look great! I guess it´s the mix of two pretty prints plus a sprinkle of tangerine through the nails, that made the look awesome.

I thought to share to you some behind the scene shots which I would otherwise not publish at the main blog. Enjoy!

I looked big tummy here but, it´s actually just the tucked shirt. ;)

So this is the look, plaid shirt, military shorts, turquise belt, and brown flat boots.

My hubby, he wore a plaid shirt too to match my plaid outfit.


And yes, he´s my camera guy.

Shopping the Trend at a Discount

Last Tuesday evening, after doing fitness, hubby and I drove to pick up some grocery supply. On our way to the grocery store, my husband noticed the huge 50% off banners plastered across the glass walls of a nearby shopping store. My husband asked if I´d like to have a look, of course I said "yes!". So we did take a look after we´ve bought our grocer.

Unfortunately, it was quite late, exactly eight o´clock and the store was closing. Yesterday evening, after hubby came home, we headed straight to the store to shop their half the price sale.


We spent more than an hour delving the store. Hubby shopped for him and I shopped for me. It was so tempting to buy everything, you always think of how much you can save! But at the end of the day, I thought of how much I could spend, instead.

So I stuck to the pieces which I´ve wanted to get and concentrated on them. First, I went to the shoes. I love ballet flats and I´d love to have them in trendy colors and print. I got a pair of mint green and a pair of orange stripes for ballerinas. You know, mint green and stripes are the trend of the season. I also went for brown oxford shoes. There were other shoes that I wished I could buy - summer wedges and heels - but they all ran out of my size.

Then to the belt. Slim contrast-waist belts are quick outfit enhancers so I made sure I got three of them - in turquoise, mustard yellow, and studded navy blue.

I´ve been meaning to buy an orange jacket but the one that I´m fancying from another high-street store is at a price I´m not willing to pay for. I waited for that jacket to go on sale but it didn´t, even until my size ran out of stock. But in this store where we shopped, lo!, and there´s an orange jacket in a quarter of the price of the other orange jacket. I didn´t have double thoughts, I took it. 


And those bags? Yes, they´re the same style in two different colors, mustard yellow and tangerine tango. I couldn´t let go any of them, so I took them both. Their quality is a lot more than their price. The material looks strong. I also brought home a striped cotton (roomy) tee for summer and a high-waisted shorts, denim. For additional accessory, i grabbed a cute nude lace-y scarf and an animal print necktie.

As for hubby, he brought home some goodies too, pants, t-shirts and belts, and he´s quite happy about them. All we paid for half a price.

So you see, when it comes to shopping, patience can pay its price. Just imagine what would I feel if I went for that first orange jacket which looked so similar with this cheaper one I got? But you need to be quick too. Good deals come flying off the racks.
